One day they put together a plan to start a magazine. They were uninspired with what was being offered on newsagency shelves and felt nothing could relate to them. Both firm friends with similar tastes, they wanted a magazine that spoke directly to the reader, contained great affordable fashion, sweet art, interesting reads, real people and pretty photography. With the support and encouragement of youth lifestyle publishing house Morrison Media, their dream became a reality.
Inside we chatted to the happiest worker-minions in the world from the offices of Etsy, Sub Pop and Vivienne Westwood, squealed with glee at pretty vintage paper dolls and learnt how to grow our own miniature gardens. There was swoony furniture design, lovely togs for summer, a little heart-to-heart with Deb Mailman, some chit chat with musos like the Morning Benders, Kids of 88 and Boy & Bear, a tribute to our favourite nerds on film, musings on the modern angst of the IKEA visit and an expert guide to old-fashioned lollies. Plus all the usual rants, reviews, craftiness, pretty pages and real-life reads.
