The urban space is connected to the history of the photography. The environment of the streets, the walkers: the sound of the city appears and reappears in the images. The city as stage, as an excuse, as an object, as a character. Street Photography as a genre itself.
In this occasion we have selected important authors of the history of photography - classic and contemporary ones - that have given his particular vision of urban imaginary. From the first captures of the modern cities, the iconic period between the forties and sixties - Walker Evans, Winogrand, Louis Faurer, Helen Levitt, among others – up to the current vision of what happens in the streets, with Lorca DiCorcia, Beut Streuli or Lewis Baltz. An issue about Street Photography without missing the sense of humor, neon lights, the unexpected things… and what it will not ever change.
