FAKE is an independent visual arts and fashion magazine started by a graphic designer and a fashion stylist. The inspiration behind the publication was discovering that there was a wealth of unseen talent amongst our peers. We realised we had the perfect opportunity to showcase young, gifted, independent creatives. Not only this, there were many interesting projects happening under the radar that we believed deserved more recognition.

What’s inside The Alter Ego Edition…
FAKE Issue Two was created around the theme of Alter Egos and features a number of insightful articles based around this theme, including ‘Doppelganger’ by Mathew Leslie Frost; the story of an unlikely meeting between two versions of the same person. Our page break, ‘A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing’ is the intricate illustrative work of Christopher Worker. Also featured are our fashion editorials showcasing beautiful photography from the likes of Jennie Sherratt, and wonderful fashion design from a wide selection of graduates, designers and boutiques. Find out more about Papergirl, an exciting global art movement, and another writer, Kadian Pow, offers us her ‘Different Take on Fake’. Not only this, Issue Two includes many more print-exclusive illustrations, including our beautiful embroidered page breaks, courtesy of Ellie May-Malin and other interesting creative projects, such as the Yellow Door Bindery which brings age old book binding techniques into the modern day.
