This issue opens a window on the dream-life of a country whose contemporary literature is mostly invisible to us, mainly due to lack of translated works.
The launch of this issue in Brazil reflects Granta’s ever-expanding international activity. In addition to the existing Spanish, Italian, Brazilian and Bulgarian publications, Granta’s international editions have launched or are forthcoming in China, Norway, Sweden and Turkey.
With generous support from the Brazilian Ministry of Culture and the National Library Foundation, Granta 121: The Best of Young Brazilian Novelists will launch with a series of events, including a festa brasiliera and readings across continental Europe, the UK and the US, starting 12 November 2012.
