This might be the most un-Time Out sentence ever put to paper, but here goes: most weekend mornings I have a couple of Arnott’s Shortbread Creams for breakfast. Now, don’t choke on your Bills scrambled eggs just yet – hear me out. Like many of our readers, I’m a fairly busy bloke, and when you’re trying to squeeze as much as you can into a weekend it can be hard to put yourself through the Sydney breakfast routine. You know: the line-ups, the agonising choice of meal, the impulsive extra pastry order, the second coffee... it’s great, but it takes up a chunk of time. That’s why I love this time of year: most of us have a little extra time. Time to see family, sure, but more to the point, time for awesome Sydney breakfasts! And so it is that we decided to round up the most awesome for our ‘Top ten breakfasts’. There’s also time to hit a great outdoor cinema and open-air dancefloor. It’s a bit of a sad time for us, though, as we farewell our brilliant associate editor, Erin Moy, who’s been here for four years. She’ll run this town someday, and we look forward to her reign.
