"British Journal of Photography is not your usual game of picture karaoke.

Established in 1854, BJP is the world’s longest-running photography magazine. We place an emphasis on innovation and invention; the concepts and creative processes that inspire those rare photographs that have the power to grab and hold your attention.

While our Technology section brings you reviews of the latest gear, we are more photography journal than camera magazine. Our philosophy is that the tools are the means to serve your creative ends.

Ideas have the greatest currency here; for each issue, we seek out new talent to showcase in our Projects section, alongside Interviews with more established names – the kind of photographers who’ve already left an indelible mark on our visual memory – together with reports on the latest trends. In our Intelligence section, we give you briefings and opinion on the latest thinking about the medium and how to make it work as a business."
